Ulster lawyer Edward Carson led a march of 50,000 Unionists from Belfast to Craigavon, the home of James Craig, 1st Viscount Craigavon.
He there delivered an address which included; "We must be prepared.. the morning Home Rule passes, ourselves to become responsible for the government of the Protestant Province of Ulster."

Earle Ovington made the first official airmail flight in the United States flying a Blériot XI from Nassau Boulevard aerodrome, Garden City, New York to Mineola, New York.
